I started Officiating in 1972 after entering the Air Force and trained in ASA softball in Metro San Antonio. In I976 I was selected to work the men's fastpitch, City and Texas State Championship. While I was stationed in Germany I picked up the sport of volleyball & basketball. I left the military in 1986 and moved to the local area where I was recruited to work high school football. My goal was to work the State Championship in all four sports. I finally accomplished my goal by working my final championship in football at Bobby Bowden field at FSU. I have also officiated softball at the college level. I worked four National Junior College Tournaments . The last of which I was selected to crew chief the championship game. I have worked in the SEC and the A-Sun Conference with one A-Sun Conference Championship.
I enjoy the challenge and teamwork it takes to officiate any sport. The sense of accomplishment it feels to work a hard fought contest between bitter rivals. Leaving the field or court knowing you gave them both a equal opportunity to win the contest.
Val Pfister – Treasurer
